Review: How to create higher performing, happier classrooms in 7 moves

Recently, I had the pleasure of reading the paper from the Christensen Institute titled “How to create higher performing, happier classrooms in 7 moves.” The seven moves require no technology. They require no new curriculum. They do not need blended approaches, or personalized learning, or more homework, or less homework. Here are the seven:

Moves for teachers to create happier, higher performing classrooms. It all flows from relationships of trust.

In my personal reflections, I feel the linchpin of the seven moves is number five – Build relationships of trust. From building a relationship of trust all other moves flow. Without trust, it is difficult to empower. Without trust, it is difficult to be accountable to yourself and your students. Without trust, feedback is not as meaningful or appreciated.

I encourage you to read the paper, explore the examples, and reflect on your own personal experience. And please, share your thoughts.
